*Teaching/Research Assistant for Participatory Media Project*

We are launching an innovative, six-month project to train local civil
society NGO leaders and personnel in the principles and technologies of
the social web. The project will consist of a series of basic and
advanced workshops, hosted in Beirut and elsewhere around the country.

We're seeking two curious, energetic teaching/research assistants with a
commitment to sound civil society in Lebanon to help us develop
curricula and implement the workshops, as well as to aid in
documentation on our website, blog, and wiki. Applicants must be
organized self-starters, who are fluent in both written and spoken
English and Arabic, have solid writing and Internet research skills, and
some familiarity with multimedia production and/or blogging. Teaching,
NGO, and/or social activism experience are a plus.

Most important is a willingness to learn about what we're teaching and
to think about how it can be applied to peacebuilding and development in
Lebanon. Our hope is that the training research assistants will, over
the life of the project, develop the capacity and the desire to pass
along what they learn, formally or informally, long after this project ends.

The positions are three-quarters to full-time for the duration of the
project and will operate out of our Saifi office.

Interested candidates should forward their résumé/CV and a brief cover
letter explaining their interest as soon as possible to the following
email address:
socialmediaexchange (at) therootspace (dot) org

Please write Teaching Assistant in the subject line.
