Thanks to All that replied, hope everyone is safe and sound..
Starting a project that is Scuba/Linux is a brilliant idea, I am
brainstorming and researching
what I can do. To begin with I think a dive log database would be a good
choice followed by a web portal as Bashlogic suggested,
thanks for the referral.
I would eventually like to develop a dive school/center software as over the
years
I only came across a handful that were ridiculously overpriced, however I
have yet to figure out the structuring.
I'll be looking into bug wrangling as well.
As for the LPI course, we have been taught all the basics of using linux,
beginning with command line usage and installation/boot procedures, basic vi
usage/scripting, kernel building, various admin tasks, brief general
networking... it is all material found abundantly over the net and can be
done through self study, however, for me personally it was of major benefit
coming from an absolute zero computer background, unlike my classmates who
were more comfortable with the terminology and structuring.
Moe Shublaq thanks a lot for the consideration and giving me the opportunity
to assist you in your project, however LDAP will not be covered in the LPI
102, it will be part of the LPI 201 which I will not be attending in the
mean time, or ever maybe since I now have enough knowledge to confidently
carry on self study. If I were to buy the material it will cost a 1/7th of
the price of the course. I am looking into it though and will still be
available if your offer remains.
Ideally segmented courses available for those wishing to learn linux for
personal use but don't have the time to self study, at a much lower cost
than is the going rate could help grow the community and in turn create more
local knowledge sharing for all stages. Makes sense?
Abdallah and all those interested in a Scuba Intro dive and anything else
scuba related, all is definitely feasible. Did a training pool session
yesterday that was extremely soothing amidst this mess the country is in.
Just drop me a line privately to discuss the details.
Thanks again to all.
