You actually can't compare vista to Beryl or even compiz they offer a
lot more when it comes to the looks, that's all i can say about both
interfaces as i have tested vista on my pc and it wasn't that impressive,
concerning memory use, well i just did a test to see how much ubuntu
could hold, i have 1GB RAM, i have oracle 10 XE running in the
background, aMSN, amaroK playing a song, cross over office running
access, word, excel, powerpoint and outlook 2000, gnome chess, d4x
downloading a file, mono develop,  the gimp, azureus,  and eclipse,
also i have avant window navigator (which i really recommend for a
dock) and screenlets, the memory use was 690MB on vista i haven't
tried the exact same applications, but photoshop and word got the
system using more then 750MB or RAM, so that was my experience with
Vista and Beryl (Ubuntu in general)
About the themes, my current setup is a dark blue theme for emerald,
and a blue cloudy sky for the skydom with no caps, i tried to upload a
screenshot but my connection isn't helping, anyway
