i think you have misinterpreted the zimbra support.
it works just fine, there are certain features that it lacks
and certain things that you would have to do manually.
in short for a soho or a midsized company it still should
work.
if you look under the hood, you would notice that it
actually is running postfix + amavis etc..
so should it be required, a bit of hacking should get you there,
that is part of what opensource is :)
you can have zimbra run nicelly out of install on
ubuntu tls with no probs.
