there is truth to the background that you say,
personally i have not gone to such extent of coding and barelly can achieve a
hello world on my shell :).
it is an ongoing issue where commercial companies provide only compiled images
to embeded devices as you reffered to and that market is ever growing
about to go ten
folds what it is now within the comming years.
putting the question of ethics aside, could you give a simpler example
to other people, a small step by step that others could try to learn
from. for example, how to read data of a memory page for an object?
lets say for example a user creates several shell variables
that could be made visible by simple echo $foobar. but instead, have a
small step by step on how it can be read of the suspended ram image
containing the memory pages. this is an academic & intelectual request
none more. my point is more for others to learn the tricks that not
many are familiar with of low level coding and debuging thru hooks
etc.
