Hey Guys,
Almost time for our meeting(actually it was supposed to be this weekend, but
going out during elections are not a good idea). So hisham, can you make the
call?
I am thinking of this weekend. What does everybody think?
I have one thing i want to discuss:
-Mainly for people who compile their own kernel and specifically for their
laptops, what sort of options do you enable or disable that are specific for
that?
-Also, if someone can show me the results of powertop on their custom kernel
or stock kernel that is not ubuntu, we can compare results.
On another note, if anybody is interested, i can give a small demo or
session about the use of distributed version control systems.
Possible Outline:
-An introduction in general to DVCS
-Comparison with non-distributed VCS and the differences in workflow
-Demo with bazaar(bzr) and the increase in productivity even for a small
team or one programmer
If anyone knows any other DVCS such as git or monotone or mercurial, i am
thinking that doing a joint demo and comparing both tools would be nice as
well. I am only doing this if there's enough interest though, so let me
know.
Regards,
Alaa Salman
