Hi, I need to, well more like want to, buy a smart phone / PDA phone,
something like the iMate Jamin but i dont want to be locked with
closed hardware. Also i need something that i cant break so easily.

http://www.trolltech.com/products/qtopia/greenphone   ~ $700
a bit expensive, but its targeted for development testing mostly.

http://www.openmoko.com/press/index.html ~$350 according to
wikipedia:: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenMoko
This looks most promising. But no wifi, and its not clear when the
phone is available for sale.

But for now, i need something that plays nicely with linux to sync my
todo lists and schedule ... sketching and mindmapping can wait. For
this my current Nokia 6230, http://europe.nokia.com/6230, can do the
job, almost, try http://www.cihar.com/gammu/wammu/ if you still did
not.
But anyway, anyone can suggest something with a bigger screen, more
comfortable keyboard? there are plenty of options out there, but my
main issue is i rarely use a windows machine, so i need your advice on
what phones that might play nice with linux

Regards
-Naim
