greetings,
has anyone fidled with mdadm raid?
ive been fidling with it for a while and came across a nussance.
ive been testing a setup on vmware where i partitioned and created the raid
mirrors using mdadm on
opensuse 10.1 without any glitches.
but when i attempted to install on a physical server which happened to have
different drives models
(partitions were the same size) boot up would fail, "no operating system
found", any ideas?
i tried installing on each of the ide disks separatelly and the
installations worked fine
but it then fails with the mdadm raid.
another prob ive got is that my system, is that the opensuse installation
claims that three disks out of
6 are presented as raid disks while this is not possible since ive disabled
this from the bios, any ideas there?
